For us, data protection is not a tiresome obligation or a mere checkbox in compliance guidelines — it is something we genuinely care about. We firmly believe that digital sovereignty and security can only be achieved through unconditional transparency and technological independence. That is why we make no compromises.
We build on infrastructure that hands control back to you: self-operated, open source and verifiable.
Open instead of black box
Our own infrastructure runs on open-source software — from the operating system through ticketing, file storage and access management to this website. We rely on auditable source code reviewed by a worldwide community rather than on a vendor’s promise. That we also look after proprietary systems for our clients — Microsoft 365, SAP, DATEV and others — is no contradiction: that choice is the client’s, and our job is to make it manageable. For our own operations we choose the open option.
Data sovereignty: our own infrastructure, Switzerland the only third country
Your data belongs to you. This website and the services we work with run on servers administered by us alone — in our own office and on three nodes rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Nuremberg, Falkenstein and Helsinki, hence within the EU. This page embeds nothing from third parties: no analytics, no external fonts, no third-party map services, no videos. What you see of maps is drawn by our own code. Our Content Security Policy would block that outright. The only third country in our processing is Switzerland, where Infomaniak operates our e-mail service — a country the European Commission has certified as providing an adequate level of data protection. Exactly what is processed where is set out in our privacy policy.
